# Raphael Wimmer - Vita

## Short Vita (English)
Raphael Wimmer is a tenured lecturer at the University of Regensburg where he leads the research group *Physical-Digital Affordances*. From 2017 to 2022, the group was funded by the [[https://www.stmwk.bayern.de/wissenschaftler/|Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts]] and coordinated by the [[https://www.bidt.digital/|Bavarian Research Institute for Digital Transformation (bidt)]] and the [[https://zentrum-digitalisierung.bayern/massnahmen/nachwuchsforschungsgruppen/|Centre Digitisation.Bavaria (ZD.B)]]. 
Raphael studied media informatics at the University of Munich (LMU) where he also received his PhD for a [thesis on Grasp-Sensitive Surfaces](https://edoc.ub.uni-muenchen.de/18095/). His research revolves around technical, ergonomic, and organizational aspects of human-computer interaction.

Dr. Raphael Wimmer ist akademischer Rat am Lehrstuhl für Medieninformatik an der Universität Regensburg und Leiter der Forschungsgruppe "Physical-Digital Affordances".
Er studierte Medieninformatik an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) und promovierte dort auch mit einer Dissertation zum Thema "Grasp-Sensitive Surfaces".
Seine Forschung im Bereich Mensch-Computer-Interaktion konzentriert sich auf effiziente Benutzungsschnittstellen, physisch-digitale Arbeitsprozesse, und zukünftige Interaktionsparadigmen.
