Idea: a Public-Transport-Aware Meeting Planner

When organizing a meeting (or other events), the start is often set at the full hour. For people using public transport, this leads to inefficiencies as trains and busses may arrive much too early or a little bit too late. Therefore, people either waste time or take the car instead.

As Christian Reinboth argues, it would be better to have meetings start at times that are synchronized with bus/train timetables.

I have previously done this - but that requires manually checking connections and arrival times for every participant.

Implement a simple web tool (including API) that allows for entering an approximate start/end/duration/location of the meeting and the locations of all participants. This tool then automatically checks the bahn.de API for suitable connections and suggests one or more points in time when the meeting could start so that waiting times are minimized.

Focus should be on speed and reliability. Furthermore, the system might also show how much emissions have been saved by choosing public transport (maybe also using the bahn.de UmweltMobilCheck)
